Thank you for your advice. I was a little worried about the eggs - not sure of the correct "washing" technique but I have been dating and refrigerating them. I have updated my location as you suggested. I would love to get Becky a companion but from what I have read it looks like I will need another adult. I found an ad on Craig's list for RIRs for $4 each and when I wrote and asked if there were any chickens left the reply I got was "cooked". WHAT??? I am not sure how to go about getting an adult companion for her so I am open for any advice. I live in the Nashville, TN area. The problem is that I still work full time (yes, that is my granddaughter in the pic) and although I have an acre of fenced in land, I wouldn't want to do a dis-service to Becky or the other chicken. She is a cross between a toddler and a puppy. She met the other grandchildren last weekend and her expression said it all! To me it said "What??? I am not an only child?"View attachment 1270578

I didn't realize you were in Nashville. I'm about an hour south of you but don't have RIRs, Stop by the Middle Tennessee thread I'm pretty sure someone near you will have some adult or POL RIRs.
