With chickens you learn something every day! I have always laughed at people afraid of chickens or that would complain about their pecking. Today I learned when it is really cold out, it really hurts to get pecked by a hen.

Welcome to BYC. It was very nice of you to take on your brother's chickens, and I am sorry to read one of them is ill. I agree with the others, your best bet for help is the medical emergencies forum. They will want you to list all symptoms, and will probably want photographs. I hope you get the help you need for your hen.
