New to Chickens

He is the nicest of the chicks so far, does that mean he will be the meanest of the roosters once they are older? (I heard the males and females switch friendliness as they age)

Not necessarily.
I had a bratty little cockerel chick that would pitch a fit every time you picked him up that went on to be my senior rooster who is excellent with the flock but will flog me on occasion.
The junior rooster was nice as a chick and still is as a rooster.

It does look like you might have a little cockerel there. As for becoming mean, it's really hard to say. It depends a lot on his temperament, and a bit on how you raise him.
