New to chickens

Hello all,
My family and I are new to chickens. We are so excited. We pick up our chicks from a hatchery in a few short weeks. We've read so much about brooding them indoors versus outdoors. We hope to have our 4x6 coop finished by the time we pick them up. Can we brood outside in the coop? We will have a 12' run attached to coop as well as free ranging them. Any help would be great

Hello and welcome to BYC! Glad you joined.
I strongly recommend brooding in the coop! Just don't use a heat lamp for the heat source. Either fashion a momma heat pad or use a brooder plate with an old towel thrown over the top.
