New to chickens

Hi everyone!

I am new to chickens. I don't have any chickens yet. I wanted to read more about them and hope next year to have about 6 -12 for egg production.

I hope to learn a lot from reading everyone's posts. Would love to know about the pros and cons of coops. We will be designing and building ours and want to make it easy to clean and accessible and include protection from a freeze up to high 90's in our area.
