New to chickens.

Welcome to BYC!!
Ducklings grow faster than chicks, by week 3-4, ducklings will be more than triple the size of the chicks even though they are younger. They should be kept separate.
You probably already have this done but I wanted to mention your coop and duck house. Make sure the building of the coop, duck house and run are done or almost done because the little ones grow so fast! The chicks can move into the coop in a few more weeks and the ducklings will be able to move into their duck house in a couple weeks.
We have 2 Silver Appleyards, that's where I got the egg from. I was collecting them when she got clucky and sat on them. So I put all but one back lol.
Amy (duckling just hatched) is beside my bed in the hot tank. She can go out with her parents when she's old enough.
We have a garage for the chicks to go into, but I am thinking of buying one of those chicken coup houses to sleep in and lay in. Not keeping any rosters. I won't eat fertilized eggs.
Thank you for your input.

:welcome

Hi Gina, in addition to the duckling growing faster than the chicks, ducklings make a lot of wet messes and it's best for the chicks to not constantly be in all the damp.

Thanks for joining!
Yeah, I thought along those lines. The ducks are out the front and the chickens will be at the back of the property.
