New to raising and keeping chickens
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? We are new to chickens. Just finished the coop. Will be starting on the run this weekend.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 0 - Expecting to get our chicks in a month or so. My brother-in-law is taking care of them until they get up to about 12 weeks old. He has had chickens for several years now and volunteered to help us get started.
(3) What breeds do you have? Black Star and Plymouth Barred Rock. 3 of each
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? Excited about having chickens and taking care of them, getting eggs, etc...
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Gardening and wine making.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. Just my wife and I. Kids are grown. No other pets.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? : Found out about BYC from my brother-in-law. Checked out the site and found a lot of great information.
