New to chickens.

Hello all,
I am new to raising chickens, I just got my first five 6 weeks ago. I believe they are all hens but I’ve started getting mixed opinions so I’m a little nervous.
I have four different breeds, but can only remember three; Rhode Island Red, Golden Sex Link and Bantam. Can’t remember the last one for the life of me.
Right now, the purpose of our chickens is for eggs. we shall see the the future holds.
Gardening is my favorite thing to do, having chickens there has become second nature.
I have 7 kids so being able to grow/raise our food is great.
I found this group when looking for ways to identify a rooster. That will take you down a worm hole.
I can’t wait to learn things from you all.

Welcome to BYC!! They all look like pullets except the one sitting up the tallest. That looks like a cockerel.

That’s what I keep getting told
Hello, and welcome to the BYC community. The second from the left is a cockerel.
Welcome to BYC. Sorry, you do have a cockerel.
Bantam refers to a smaller chicken, usually any (adults) under 2 to 2/12 lbs. There are many breeds of bantams.
That is interesting about the bantam. I didn’t know that. When I purchased her, she was just listed as a bantam. Clearly, I need to do some further research. She does have hairy legs though, so that’s kind of cool.

They are usually sold at farm stores as "mixed bantam SR" the SR means straight run, which means you can get either cockerels or pullets. (Luck of the draw.)
Do you have a picture of her?
