Hello all! We are a new to chickens family. Just got them and our coop/run this spring (whew what a task building their mansion was). We got 10 lovely ladies!!! They are so fun!
We have 5 different breeds so 2 of each (we are thinking maybe not sure though, that might not be true, but I'll post that in a different thread). We are suppose to have Isabella Leghorns, Amberlinks, Black Astrops, Sapphire Gems and Sapphire Olive Eggers.
We have enjoyed watching their personalities and adorable antics. They are very curious creatures and way smarter than they are given credit for.
We are an outdoorsy family, love hunting, camping fishing etc. We are also fairly new to gardening as this is our 3rd year.
My husband and I have 4 kids combined, 2 from his previous relationship girl and a boy (older kids in their late 20's). One child from my previous relationship girl who is 18 and 1 child together a boy 13. My husband just turned 50 and I am about to be 45! We have 2 dogs a 3 year old 1/2 Belgian Malinois 1/2 German Shepherd mix and a 1 year old Corgi, Pomeranian, Chihuahua and Terrior mix, we also have a cat. My husband is a heavy equipment superintendent and I am an administrative assistant for the same company he works for.
We are so excited to be here and learn more about our amazing ladies!

Hiya, and welcome to BYC! :frow

Great intro! Are any of your dogs good with chickens? Just curious as we have a border collie and corgi who are great with them. We're thinking of going with a German shepherd for our next dog and hear they can either be great or horrible, but they're trainable.

The little one is great with them he walks right up to them and sniffs. The big one is pretty good too, but I am afraid to be too trusting with her. We are introducing slowly in small doses.
