New to chickens.

My husband was the gung ho one and I needed more convincing...

but I am SOLD now. He started to taking me to farms in our area and talking about the chickens and showing me more pics and selling me on the fact that the manure will help my garden...and I am more into it than he is. There's hope!

I'm also brand new to the chicken thing and this site.

We were all new to chickens at one time or another. Welcome to BYC. You could order from a hatchery if you are just wanting egg layers. If you want better birds then I'd look around on here and see if anyone offers leghorns or any of the other white egg layers.
