New to chickens!

Hi and from Ohio. So glad to have you aboard.

Well, thanks for all the support and help on trying to reviving our sick little one, but sadly she passed early this morning. I tried to give her some electrolytes before bed and she took some and when I got up at 1am to feed her she had passed on. However the other 5 are doing great and we look forward to having them as members of our family. Thanks again to all for the well wishes.

Thank you for the condolences. I can truly say that we did everything that we could to help her. That brings our family to 5 and that is really what we wanted anyway so everything works out. Thanks for the help!

I had no idea there was such a huge community of chicken lovers!

We're a big family here, really. We have chickens and/or ducks, geese and other poultry in common. We cry together and laugh together and hatch together... But now and then you will "meet" another member that you find you have more in common with and before you know it, you'll have a new friend. I've made some wonderful real life friends here. There are lovely people on this site.

im new to chickens too! I got my first 3 last Saturday then added a Wyandotte on Monday...they all seem to be settling in...I chose teenage chickens I was afraid the babys would require to much time and I have none to spare lol...ive named all 4 with the help of my Daughter and neices...the Bantam rooster is Chick O'Lay the 2 bantam hens are Peep and Shakira...and the Wyandotte is a little on the heavy side so she is Fat Amy lol
