Ok, so its been a couple of months and I now have instant chickens! Someone was moving and wanted someone to rehome their chickens. I even got a little chicken wire coop.
I have no clue what kind they are. There is a rooster. Hes black with green in his feathers. There is a black hen. There are 2 grayish tan hens and they have little topknots of feathers like a little hat. I have no clue as to what kind they are. And a young pure white hen, I think they said she is about 4 months. Also a little surprise, I told them I would take the chickens last week, when there were 4 hens. Well it turns out there are also 3 new chicks with the black hen. So I have baby chicks, young chicks, hens and a rooster!
If anyone has any idea what kinds I have I'd love to know. Tried getting pics but they were upset with me. I did kind of get a few of the grayish tan with the feather caps.
I bought chicken crumbles today Purina Flock raiser I think. Shavings for the ground. Not happy with them throwing it in their waterer. They went for the crumbles, even the babies. One had laid an egg this morning!
