Hi all! Today we got everything we'll need for our babies' brooder. Just waiting for the chicks! Can't wait to start this new adventure.

Hi..I'm also new to this site and was wondering what supplies are needed. A friend mentioned an incubator..but not sure where to purchase one from.

You might also like to check out the Learning Center, https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center there are some good chick keeping articles in there, ie https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/...ks-the-first-60-days-of-raising-baby-chickens For incubators check out the Reviews section for Member reviews on a lot of models, you can buy them from the manufacturers if you decide on one, or places like Amazon or E-bay also carry them. https://www.backyardchickens.com/products/category/egg-incubators
You might want to make your own thread so you get more answers and aren't lost in the middle of MaryContrary's thread just click on "start a new thread" on the forum page https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/44/new-member-introductions

Kelsie has you on a good path with the links! The learning center under Raising Chicks will tell you all you need to know as to brooding and raising them.

Great to have you aboard and enjoy your new babies!

Thanks, all! Today we brought home our babies: Three Barred Rocks & three Golden Laced Wyandottes. They're happily bouncing around their brooder now.

Update: The babies are doing great! They're super sweet & very silly. My hand in the brooder is their favorite toy. They like to play "Queen of the Mountain" on it.
