Thank you! So I have a question. when you collect your eggs,do you have to replace them with fake ones and for how long?

Coop is really looking nice so far! Most people leave a fake egg or two in the nests all the time. Hens like to lay eggs in nests that other hens have used, so fake eggs make them think it is a good nest...and hopefully makes them less likely to hide eggs. You'll most likely find that your hens will have a favorite nest or two where most of the eggs will be layed.

Chickens don't really mind humans gathering their eggs (unless they are broody), so you don't have to replace their real eggs with fake eggs. However, most people still do keep fake eggs (either real fake eggs or substitutes, like golf balls) in their chickens' nests. The fake eggs encourage laying in the right place.
