New to chickens

Have just read use plenty of hydrogen peroxide to clean the wounds off then a and d ointment or petroleum jelly. Hold your girl like a football very gently as possible under your arm . Be sure you hold her feet too.

Shes not bleeding anymore.
But I have another random question. lol.
If the mean chicken (Henny Penny) keeps chasing all the other chickens, should we separate Henny Penny from the rest or will that make a new pecking order? and if we don't separate her, is it okay to still lock them all up together at night?

I have read that if your separate a chicken out for at least several days. They will be at the bottom of the pecking order when they return. Your wounded girl must have not only stopped bleeding but her wounds must not be red and raw.. Chickens will peck them open. P,lease look up articles on chicken cannibalism.

Welcome to BYC!

Separating out the mean bird does not necessarily take them to the bottom of the pecking pile. Sometimes it does nothing. This separation would need to be done for over one month to make a difference. Chickens don't forget each other that fast.

If you can't separate them for a month or more, you might try pinless peepers. I have used them on various birds in my flock to control aggression, stop picking at molting time and to protect sick birds.

Good luck and don't let any birds be bullied by a bully. :)
