New to chickens.

When you said if temperatures where a concern what type of temperatures are we talking about? I know I can keep them cool enough in the summer, but in winter what's too cold? We hit below freezing a few times a year, but seldom have more than a week that'll stay below 40F.

You're welcome. Your temperatures are not a problem for any breed of chicken. I've raised some of the cold hardier breeds where winter temperatures dropped to 30 F below zero, and with a well ventilated, dry, and draft free coop, they did just fine.
