New to chicks can you help me identify their age/breed?

Haha live and learn. Well these gals are family now.

Fingers crossed they're sexlinks (rather than just barnyard mixes) so at least they'd all be female.

Ya, if they are Sexlinks you do have all pullet. My gut tells me that's what they are. But its hard tellin this young. Just have to wait it out.

The thing that worries me is that the seller either had NO IDEA what they had other than some chicks or was an outright liar. Or both. Even if you bought a bunch of hatchery-bred clearance sale chicks that were a week old and the bin was mislabeled for breed, you'd just say that you got them recently and don't know how old they are, right? Why give a specific hatch date unless you were being intentionally deceptive?

Here Is an update 6 days after the 1st set of photos were taken. I hope this will help with their identification. I used my fancy camera.

So far, so good. They still look like female sexlinks. And, the funny little feathers on the upper wing are coming in so they now resemble my two week photos.

I did some research on the farm and I believe they mislabeled them on accident. I was looking on their website and they show Novogen chicks for sale with a born on date of 07/15/2017. Would that breed and born date make more sense?

That would make perfect sense. Novogen is a brand name sexlink and they'd be 20 days old. It also means lots of brown eggs for you!

Lots of brown eggs isn't blue eggs but it sure beats 50% cockerels.
