New to duck incubation, and I need a little help.

Thank you i was worried. How would i secure them, any sugestions? omg, i used to breed pit bulls and himalayans, watching eggs is way more stressfull than breeding biger animals cause they are so tiny and helpless. I don't want to do anything wrong, but i guess it being the first time i'm going to worry constantly. Thanks again. Angie.

I have always used egg cartons when I did staggered hatches. They secure the eggs really well so you don't have any soccer players.

Emmalion- With all these early birds, I expect you should start seeing some action tomorrow. I don't think I would be tempted to help Isis anymore until the others hatch out. She may have been forced to pip early because of her position in the shell.

How do you have them in there now? you can leave them in the turner and just put a divider between the eggs and soon to hatch eggs or you can put them into egg cartons with the bottoms cut out (air circulation)

Thanks for the egg carton suggestion, i just did that. They were on an egg turner cause the bator i borrowed was from a friend who has chickens. Didn't know anything about ducks. On the 4th. day i took out the turner. I didn't like putting them on the wire rack, looked uncomfortable to me. I know they can't feel it. Thanks for the info. Angie.

Exactly that is why I just keep a good eye on her. I don't want to help her out but there is still the very real possibility she may not be able to get out of the shell in her position. But I wont help her out of it until she is showing signs of distress

Gotta head home and check on the bator. We have high winds here today and the tress are coming down in my town so I am afraid of losing power. I should really just pack them up and bring them to work with me.
