looking for advice .. i have 2 ducks one pekin and one runner i think ... my daughter birthday gift to me .. not sure on ages but have several questions .. my Peking gets in the pool and starts slapping water with wings and puffs up like a ball... and keeps Betty out of pool...??? and BETTY SCREAMS AT ME when i come outside?? apparently i have no idea of what i am doing but i have been told they are spoiled .. they seem happy just trying to learn behaviors??

Sounds normal to me!

I was public enemy number 1 to the 4 mulards i raised. And now my 2 pekins seam to like me

I just pick them up whem neccessary and spend time around them. They watch me build stuff in the garage and chop wood out back. It takes time,:)

We always love pictures

the poof and flap is bathing behavior for a happy duck, if they cant get to the pool you will see them do it by thier water some times when they get in the bathing mood, just wait until they go tail up to get water over thier backs

that looks like one of my black runners! she is a very lovely bird :)

All normal behavior. They are happy and taking a bath. Your duck who quacks at you is happy the person who feeds them is coming outside!

I have a duck that gets very loud when I get close. She gets very quiet when I refill and bring back the food :gig

Ducks make all kinds of noise when they get excited, for both good and bad reasons. It's normal. Seeing you is exciting. You bring food. You fill the pool. You steal the eggs. You invade their territory. You open and close the gate. You might be carrying tools. All of these things are exciting in the world of a pet duck.

If your one duck is hogging the pool and the other doesn't ever get a turn (mine seem to take turns instead of swimming all at once), you might want to set up another water source nearby. It could be smaller. Just enough to be a bit of a distraction so they both get to get some water action. It's good for them for cleaning and preening, plus it's fun.
