New to Ducks.....

If you buy an all flock feed they won't require added Niacin.
I raise mine on Chick starter till 3 weeks then a All flock Grower/finisher for the rest of their lives. At Around 6 to 8 weeks I start mixing in Scratch grains, cracked wheat, oat & barley crumble ..I also let mine out to forage and feed fresh veggies and fruit starting at around a week old.
They need water to dunk heads and clean nares and eyes.
I start allowing mine a shallow pan of water to swim and play in at 2 or 3 days old.
Enjoy the Ducklings..

I use paint trays for drinking and playing. makes kind of a baby beach and not too deep to get into too much trouble.

Make sure their feed has enough niacin for them or supplement it. I like the Vitamin pack from Metzers for that, but you can buy niacin in liquid or pill form as well. Brewers yeast is also a popular way to supplement it too.

I'm feeding them Purinas Flock Raiser? How much Niacin, can you give to much?

Take a picture of the nutritional label ,others will tell you if you need to add or not .

I feed chick starter and 1 tablespoon of nutritional yeast each day per duck,I’ve done this for 3 days so I must be a pro

Everything I have read and from what people on here have stated--no medicated feed for ducks.

This is mainly due to different stuff that can be in these feeds. Some is not good for ducks, some is ok. It seems that people just sided with better safe then sorry and not worry about what is bad and what isn't. Now if you find a feed that is medicated and look up what is in it and it's safe--then by all means it's fine. Most people are not going to do that.

Flock Raiser has rec niacin in it but even at that we can still end up with one or more who may need to be supplemented with extra, I’d rec Nutritional yeast it’s very safe and has more niacin than brewers yeast . Just watch your ducklings if you notice one or more having difficulty walking or standing then get them on Nutritional yeast it’s 1 tab per cup of feed . The quicker they start the quicker they get over it.
