New to everything chicken!

Hello there!

I currently do not have any chickens, but hopefully in the next year or so my husband and I will be moving onto 11 acres of property here in Central Oregon. Once we have some space I'd really like to start keeping chickens for eggs and meat. Probably meat rabbits too.

So I'm here hoping to learn a lot and ask loads of questions!

I actually know a lot more about rabbits since my best friend raises them for meat and I help her care for them a lot. They're super sweet! Hers are true backyard bunnies, her yard is dig proofed and the buns have kennel area for warmth, nest boxes, and food/water, but they are free to come and go and never penned. Nothing like going into a yard and having 20 or so rabbits charge you and demand treats!

I'm a bit of a nut when it comes to animals in my care, haha. I want to know everything about them before I try to care for them! I love learning about nutrition, medical issues, behavior, etc. This site has been amazing so far!
