New to forum, but need help with duckling who came too soon

I'm going tomorrow to get feed and brewers yeast.

I just checked on him since daughter is overnight stocker at local grocery store. He's doing very well actually. He is standing tall with a little wobble, eyes partially open, very vocal, and drinks the water nicely. Only problem I had was he was wound up, so I had to be a momma duck and rest my hand on him. He's so tiny that my hand fits over him. Teehee Well, I lifted my hand to go back inside and he stood up and was peeping again. Oy! Laid my hand over him again and he calmed down. Held it for a few, lifted it, and he did it again. Lol So I wrapped him in the blanket and he calmed down and tucked his head in. Yay, gma duck! Teehee

Thanks to you all for the well wishes. I think we will be fine. I'm looking forward to watching Prince and momma interact tomorrow. :thumbsup I will definitely keep you all up to date on his progress.
That's great! :woot I know how that feels with the baby underneath your hand, I had to do that all the time lol. I'd say around 4 weeks would be best for determining sex, especially if they start to make adult quacks you should be able to tell. Fingers crossed on male! :fl

If you have a hand mirror put it in with him I tape one to secure it to the side of the brooder, they love to look at themselves and will help make the little one feel more secure. Plus a stuffed animal to snuggle with.

He has a fuzzy blanket be snuggles with.

Power went out and daughter brought Prince in since his lamp isn't on. She's feeding him watered down, hard boiled eggs. I will post pictures in a moment of eating and going to see momma. I'll see if I can post video as well.

Prince happily followed momma into the shed.

And she told me not to get so close.

Well, daughter renamed him to Turtle. It was because of not being able to return up right when he topples over and his feet kicking. Gma named him that.

Anyways, since momma is still sitting on the other egg, we did not fully let Turtle stay with her. Her egg is in the shed where the other ducks are housed. No separate brooder. They visit though, so she lets him stand on her back as she sits on the other egg.
