Arlene, and anyone else in Fairfax, VA, I've created a yahoo group called Fairfax4Chickens for the express purpose of changing the current county zoning ordinance. As it stands, you can only have chickens if you have 2 acres or more of land. I collected signatures on a petition to change the ordinance and gave it to Supervisor Hyland, which put the issue on the Zoning watch list. But they said they haven't hard anything, and they may remove it at their meeting next Tuesday, June 14th! We need to make some noise, quick. We at least need to call.

Hyland wanted me to work through my neighborhood associaton. I feel like I live in Russia or China being forced to go through the local party to get to the insulated higher ups! But that is what he wants. I don't know if all of the supervisors feel the same way.
