New to forum - hello!

Welcome! I just love this place! I've learned so much, I just get on and read sometimes and find some of the best ideas, everyone is so sharing and helpful. I have 2 cayugas and not sure what they are yet, I'm hoping for one of them to be a female since I originally got them for eggs but they are so much fun to interact with! My ducks are about 6 weeks old. We have them outside all the time now and of course they are put away for the night. They have a fenced in area outside their kennel to keep them safe from our dog who loves to bark at them and watch them run!
Thanks for the welcome, how are you enjoying your cayugas, have they started to colour yet? I am really enjoying watching them grow and change with age.. At first I had no idea which was which but now they have their own personalities and colors to differentiate. Its amazing, each day they change color green- blue, shimmering in the sun.

Enjoy and i hope you get the full love and expereince from rasing pet ducks :D
Welcome to you as well Marwan! I watched your videos they are amazing, it must have taken a lot of practice, trust, time and snacks. You have a very close connection to your ducks and they are beautiful too. I am so happy with our decision to have ducks as part of our family, I never could have imagined how curious they would be. How much personality each one could show individually. I have one Pekin who doesnt like to get dirty, so when we give watermelon he is just hanging off to the side looking for stray peices. He loves banana a whole lot more and will run away with the peice to hide it from everyone else. Our ducks don't mind being picked up but much prefer to walk all over me and nibble at my toes and to get pets. Neck rubs, under chin pets.... they are spoiled!

Enjoy BYC,this place is awesome!
This is amazing, she is just singing along the whole time.Is it her favorite song? I really appreciate her/your welcome! I often sing to my ducks and my husband will whistle, when we do this they answer back. I have yet to introduce my ducks to music but I think you've inspired me!!

Some pictures of my ducks, I've been taking more videos of them because it is easier to get them all together for a picture. I hope you enjoy my wonderful, silly, beautiful, curious and happy ducks

I just LOVE the shimmer! They are such a beautiful color! I would love to get more but my husband would probably lock me up with them in the kennel! lol They're funny too when it's time for them to go into the kennel in the evening. One goes in just fine and the other one walks right by the door and ends up looking in and calling for the other one...I'm trying to guide "him or her" in and it becomes a dance as we circle a few times...lol Yesterday I had to pick it up and put it in the kennel while the other one was supervising! I hate to refer to them as "it" but I'm not sure what the sex is and with the cayugas they both are the same colors.

Welcome! I am new too and have found this to be a fantastic resource. We started with our first ducks 2 months ago (3 Cayuga, 3 Khaki Campbells). Unfortunately we lost all 3 Cayugas two weeks ago to a mosquito borne parasite, but the Khakis are doing great. We loved our Cayugas so much, that we are going to try again with 3 more hatchlings next week. Hopefully these will fare better. They are so beautiful and such sweet birds. Good luck with yours.

They are great little personalities! She seems to reall like this band. My mom will talk to her in a high excited kind of voice & she responds about the same,so I don't know if it's Tyson Ritter's pitch in his voice or what but she only gets this excited so far with AAR. We're trying other bands though!
I hope your babies enjoy music too!

P.S.
Your babies are sooo SQUEEE!! adorable!

Scovy Mama, how do you get her to do that? Her eyes are gorgeous!!!
Hahaha! Thank you!
I wish I know why she does that,I found out she likes that song when my phone rings the tune & she'd get excited. Then when I was flipping through the TV channels that night, they had just finished singing Swing Swing & she started stomping her feet & getting happy. I grabbed my phone & she just went to town singing along! I think it's funny how she stops to listen when Tyson stops & when he starts up again she does too.
