Hi everyone. I’m so new to chickens I don’t have my chickens yet. We are preparing the ground for our coop and run. I will have a coop with a small run attached, and we plan on erecting a larger area from kennel fencing we have. I plan on perhaps 6 -8 hens to start. We live in CT. I welcome any thoughts and suggestions regarding housing and environment, suitable chicken breeds, and obtaining pullets. Thanks!

My first suggestion is make sure you plan for predator protection. Chicken wire is not predator protection!
