New to Forum.

We decided this week to start raising egg layers due to the hoarding going on right now by us. I am looking for cold climate hardy chickens that produce well and can survive our winters. Went to TSC and they were already out of chicks !! They were surprised at the rate they sold out with in 24 hours, so I'm not the only one with this idea. I hope to get to know others near me for like minded discussions about raising chickens.

We're hearing from a lot of new members they are getting into poultry for the same reason you are so I'm not surprised chicks are selling rapidly. There is a Buy-Sell-Trade forum here on BYC, check it out, maybe there will be something there for you:
