My name is Jess and I live in Central Oklahoma. I got my first order of chicks in February and they have recently started laying. I am very excited and somewhat surprised at how much I enjoy my chickens.
I have always loved fresh eggs and have generally purchased them from various places but strangly have always been very afraid of birds.....strange, I know, but it does back to a bad experience with sea gulls as a child.
My new year's resolution: face a fear. I figured I'd start with chickens and have the added benefit of my own fresh eggs.
Turns out, I love chickens!
