Hello, Just joined the forum. I am looking forward to chatting we everyone and learning as well.
This is my wife and I first year raising chickens and we are loving it.
We got Our first batch last May. We started out with layers and rosters and turkeys. 25 each of rosters and hens, and 10 turkeys. All but the layers are in the freezer. We get 19 to 22 eggs a day. Even when we were getting our -30 temperatures they produced well.

One question. We are planning on adding to the flock this year. I will be building a larger coop and I have got soon good ideas on what I will do out of this forum and I would like to thank those who have posted their plains and ideas.

In all the ones I read I never seen anything about the size a nesting box should be. I do know from experience that they need to be sheltered other wise I am cleaning them constantly.

Got to go by for now.

Welcome to our forum!

The standard size is probably 12" or 30 cm on each side. Our Coops section (top of page, brown bar) has a number of pictures of nest box designs.
