New to Goats - Need Help

Wow, great info on the dehorning. Thanks so much! I am going to see if my vet has any experience with it when he comes out. Otherwise I think I found a local goat farmer I am going to try to contact to see if they could help me out. Surprisingly things have already calmed down a bit. I tend to be an overprotective "Mom" to all my "babies".

UPDATE: I have rehomed the older pygmy. I found a friend of a friend with a great farm in southeast Indiana. This guy loves goats of all kinds but he doesn't have any pygmys. He has Boers & Alpines. He put "Tuffy" in a pasture with his Boer yearlings. Tuffy was scared but they look about the same size so he is in a good place. After being in a small backyard with dogs, now maybe he can learn some goat manners & not be such a bully. Now I will get to give some attention to my baby & after getting him castrated & healed up I will look into getting him a more appropriate friend now that I am wiser. Thanks again to everyone for all their help!

I think you did what was best for both the goats. I'm glad you found such a wonderful home for the older dude.

Now you can find the right 'friend' for your little one.
