I have visited this forum for answers to questions since getting our chicks in December 2017. Finally decided to sign up.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Personally new to chickens, however grew up around small livestock. My grandmother kept a variety in her yard such as chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, quail, doves, pheasants, goats, rabbits, to name a few.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We currently have four chickens. They are 4 months old.
(3) What breeds do you have?
We have 2 Auracana (Cheetara and Darth Vader a.k.a. Darthy), a Barred Rock (Kylo "Ky" Ren) and a New Hampshire Red (Red Sonja). Despite naming I believe them to all be hens (fingers crossed). So far only Chee (Cheetara has laid eggs, 4 total).
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
When googling questions about chickens this website provided most answers.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Gardening
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Married to my husband of 12 plus years with 2 young boys, a long hair doxie mix name Luke and Doberman Shepherd mix named Bunny.
