Hello from Iowa. I grew up around chickens and guineas but just recently rescued 11 chickens. The previous owners had them in a tiny crate with insufficient light, food and water. Needless to say, these chickens are in need of some tlc. I have 2 Araucana hens, 4 Road Island Red hens, 4 Plymouth Rock hens and one Plymouth Rock rooster. They're molting due to these poor conditions. They have a new house now, enough water and light/fresh air and also feather fixer feed. I'm also giving them tuna and table scraps to help them. Any other suggestions?

I'm glad you joined our community.

Good job rescuing those hens! They should be laying you some beautiful eggs soon, with such excellent care!

X2 on Kelsie2290's advice to get game bird feed. I use game bird feed for some of my birds, and I think that it helps with feather growth.
