Hi all.

Recently picked up 3 guinea keats to put in with my chickens as coop security. i would eventually like to get a free range flock together but for the time being they are meant to live with the chickens and help with the unwanted pests that come with a chicken coup.

Im fairly sure i have the common pearl guineas, but if anyone can verify or correct that, the info would be great. This is a pic of the 3 at 6 weeks old, my partridge rock has taken the role of mama hen and you can see her head in the corner of the pic!

thanks in advance, im really excited about these three!

It should be fine until they all hit maturity, then the "issues" will start. Usually chickens and guineas, in a coop, will get testy with each other unless they have TONS of room per bird. Even then it's not for sure they'll all get along. Some do/some don't. PeepsCA is the ID-er Extraordinaire, so she'll be able to tell you what you have, but they do like like Pearls to me. Peeps?

The bully males seem to initiate it, but the rest of the flock can follow their lead. Not all flocks work out with aggression problems, but just be aware that it can happen.
