My silkie hen hatched 6 on her own then got up from nest. So I scooped up the remaining 3 eggs. Put in my incubator that I had sitting in shed. Two have hatched 24 hours apart just fine.
But not sure if I need to help this last one. Heard chirping from egg starting at noon. No external pip then nor now. Chirping now only when I play Baby chick sounds. Appears to have broken through internally, but no external. And is getting quieter. Don't want to lose this chick. Should I at least try and tiny screw hole and then put back in incubator and wait? And If so how long? The air sack area has also shrunk since the chick has appears to have pipped through Internally. Any advice appreciated.
