New to horses and have a few questions. (Warning a lot of reading)

The grain has only been given to them once so far. I know that stuff can be like crack for animals and cause fighting. We have the grain mainly for the dairy cows and a little bit for the camels. I avoid hand feeding them treats since I've heard that it can turn a horse sour if they don't get their treats. Is that true? I'm not sure what type of supplements my FIL gives them. There is a truck that drives around with farm supplies that he buys stuff from once in a while. I'll look up horse riding lessons around here and ask around.

can treats turn a horse sour?? depends on,if they have respect for you, then no it wont..but if they dont have respect for you,,,yes, they can get very nasty when you dont have a treat for them,,bite,kick,rear,..in your case I will suggest NO treats until you learn to read and talk horse. If you really want to you will learn with the proper help,it comes naturally to some people, and then again some people never really get it,even with help, mainly because they dont want to listen or think they know it all and "dont need to be told how to treat a horse"..
