Just got a homemade still air bator. Very nice, very well made. I am starting to collect eggs today and will put them in, the end of the week. NOW, how do I store the eggs till then??? sm end down or big end down??????

And, how often should I turn the eggs each day?????

Thanks for any help!!!

Small end down, egg cartons are fine. I placed mine on a wide board, in two cartons and propped the board up on one side and changed sides during the day, thus turning them twice daily. Info I read says to hold them @ 55-60*F for no more than 7-9 days before setting in incubator. Hope this helps and Good Luck.

thank you so much, that helps a great deal!!!!! Hope to put them in the bator by the end of the week. Gonna turn the incubator on and let it run so I can get the temp/humidity correct....... first time ever doing this, always let momma hen do it!
