New to Jumbo Wild Corturnix Quail

Hey there. I received 60 eggs middle of July and put them in an incubator I built by watching YouTube videos. Out of that 60, I have 5 females and 6 males. I currently have one of the bigger males in with the girls. They started laying eggs on Sept 28. I hope to be able to use them for meat and eggs.

Welcome to BYC!!

Glad to meet you, Lee. There is a terrific quail forum here with very helpful and generous members who have loads of experience. I keep coturnix myself and find them charmingly simple and easy, if a bit flighty. I had to be told about quail egg scissors. They make opening those tiny, delicious eggs so much easier. And there are excellent how-to articles about harvesting your quail, using every part of your quail and tips on incubating coturnix eggs. (thank you, Nabiki!) Best wishes with your quail venture and welcome to BYC.
