Hi all, This is a first time for me,
I live in Northern Colorado with a menagerie of animals. I have had a flock of Orpington Chickens for many, many years. I currently have 12 Buff Orps and one older Gold Laced Wyandotte hen. I am interested in replacing some Blue Orps...either Standards or Bantams. I used to have Standard Blues, but gave them away to a young 4-H lad, when my hubby was dying from cancer. Now I'd like to get back into them, if I can find some for a reasonable price. Chicks preferred. I found BYC when I asked about Blue Orps from an Ebay poster. Thanks so much for the tip.
My other hobbies...well, I'm a self-taught artist and make Australian Shepherd dog greeting cards...and in the past, with my hubby, oak & hardwood Aussie "scrolled" ornaments and items. I also like to read to learn more about "natural health" for my Aussies, myself and my livestock. I "naturally rear" all my animals, cats and dogs. NO toxins, vaccines or toxic wormers on my acreage. Been an organic gardener for over 30 years. I use Australian Bush Flower Essences, Reiki, homeopathy and other natural helps.
I currently live with 7 Prey Model style RAW diet fed Aussies...two boys and 5 girls. I compete in Nov. B level obedience with my dogs. Along with one retired Quarter horse, one Nubian buck and 3 Nubian does. Expecting kids in May. That will keep me busy...with milking and bottle feeding kids.
I am retired...IF being a livestock owner is EVER retired. I like to sew also. More in the past, than right now.
Hoping to learn more, or possibly help others to learn to "naturally rear" their chickens/livestock/cats/dogs.
