Hi everyone glad to see a bunch of chicken lovers like myself. I am glad to find this blog cause after several years i have run into problems and need advice and I have seen a lot of great advice on the recent posts. I currently have a variety of chickens,duck,geese ,and turkey. I also have 2 dogs and 2 motherless kittens which I bottle fed till last week who are eating on their own now. My first chicks were hatched 3 days ago by a beautiful black hen who went bloody a few weeks ago. 3 chicks so far and I am so proud i have been at this Back yard chicken thing for 7 years and never allowed the eggs to be sat on. I am thrilled with the new additions however I left it all up to the girls and did no research so I have eggs and chicks under my hen. Kinda worried for the little eggs. Seems being a backyard chicken girl is a worrisome career but glad to do it and glad to find ya all

After the chicks started hatching I went out at night and candled the remaining eggs if any looked like the chick was moving or I heard peeping in the shell I left them with her. Blood rings or see through I took.
