new to peafowl

*By the way, MrsRobinson, my comments are definitely not meant to discourage you! Only to prepare you for life with your new wonderful peas!

Same here we are here to help and if it means telling ya the downside of things like some of us mighta learned the hard way, just trying to save ya some grief later on down the road.

I third this. I really don't like saying discouraging things because I am such a big peafowl enabler.

I hope you can have peafowl! Last year was my first year having three peacocks all old enough to make the loud peacock call and from what I have observed, when one peacock calls the others like to chime in. Some of them like to call more than others. My white peacock Frosty likes to make noise. Sometimes he makes noises like "ooowh owh owh" which is not the loud call and he makes it throughout the year. I am not sure what he is trying to say. Sometimes I think it might be an attention call or he might be calling for food. One peacock, especially if he has a peahen(s) should not call as much. It does depend on the bird though because like I said my Frosty seems to like to hear himself.

no worries! I appreciate the information. I am new to this and am glad to have people to tell me the negatives and what they have done. thank you both!

Yes, they are ridiculously cute! Cant wait to get my birds! And if it doesn't work out I will at least have the experience!

it will work out ya might have to by your neighbors a fan to drowned out the noise, i do not have neighbors but i do sleep with a fan on cause my peas roost right by my home as well as my crowing roos.
