My name is Daniel Mensah-Nuamah from Ghana, a country in West Africa. I am a Electrical Engineer by profession. I am very new to the poultry business so I have no idea. My intention is to start a commercial poultry farm with 500 chicken and hoping to increase it to 1000 by two years time.
I am joining this community to lean from the experience ones to have knowledge on poultry from A to Z

Hi Daniel and welcome to BYC - thanks for joining us. It may be worth, as pre-cursor to starting your venture to keep a few chickens for a year or so - it would give you the opportunity to gain experience. It's better to make a mistake with a few chickens, rather than with hundreds.

Here’s a link to the Articles section - https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/ There you’ll find lots of information on almost every aspect of keeping chickens - from coop building ideas, to incubating eggs.

There’s a link on the page above to the Learning Centre - it’s a great resource. If you have a specific topic in mind, just type it in the search box - there's a wealth of information on past and present threads.

Each week, various topics are discussed, which can also be a great resource - https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/topic-of-the-week-thread-archive

I wish you the best of luck

Hi and welcome. There's a lot of useful information on this site. If you've no poultry experience, you have a lot of learning to do. I've had my hens for several years now, and there's a lot I still have no clue about. There's always something new to learn.
