Hi! We are new to raising chicks. We have 16 of them. 10 of them we bought 11 days ago and 6 7 days ago but they all look the same age. We were wanting to give them treats and I was wondering are if the dried bagged worms at the feed store were ok to give them.

! Pleased you joined our flock! I think it would be fine to give them a few. Good luck to you!

Thank you. We are wanting to tame them up and was hoping this will do the trick.

do they say that they are good for baby chicks?

If they are that new I would wait another two weeks before introducing them to other foods than their chick feed and foods that are baby-chick friendly. When they're around a month old, I'd start giving them watermelon and worms and other foods like that. Wait till their older to start giving them other foods. Just avoid cantalope. The chickens love it, but it makes them fart. and you do NOT want to smell a chicken fart.

Do you know when to let your chicks outside and such?

No cantaloupe it is! Lol. No, we don't know when to let them out or even when we can take the heat lamp off of them..

They won't act very comfortable around you, and their poop will get stuck on their bum. It's called pasty butt. Check your chicks often to see if they have pasty butt. butt, once they are older they won't get it. I'd check them regularly untill they start laying, then you can definately stop. If they do have it, wipe their butt thoroughly with a warm, wet rag untill all the poop is gone. getting pasty butt can kill a chick.

oh, no pun intended on sentence 4;)
