My daughter in-law killed 2 of my roosters for me this morning and put them in a box, she meet us at the bowling alley. We bowled our games with the box in the back of her car. Our outside temperature was in the high 20's. Around 5:30 or 6pm I was able to pluck the one and it's skin is grey. Did it go bad because of the time was about 8 hrs between kill and plucking?

Hiya, and welcome to BYC!! :frow

I'm a bit squeamish especially about chicken and hearing that the skin turned gray is concerning to me. The temp was fine, so I don't know why it would be gray unless it was a silkie (black skin). It should be flesh-colored. Whether the feathers being left on after it died was the reason, I don't know, but I personally would pass.
