when ever i first get a new hen they have nothing to do with me for atleast a week or two but soon they see im not going to harm them and they start warming up to me and waiting for me by the gate for more food or treats just like the others so i wouldnt worry much

hope things work out for u and ur 2 new orpington they r really great birds once they get used to u and great brooders if ur wanting to hatch out babies (a lil to great mine hasnt stop brooding and its been over 6 weeks lol) hope to see their pics soon
