New to raising chickens in S. E. Tx.

Hi, I'm new to the chicken experience. I have already been through the forums here several times to get answers to questions I have so I thought I would join. I have 8 chickens-2 speckled Sussex, 2 RIR, 2 buff Orpington, and 2 golden sex links. I have at least one roo-Spec Sussex(not intended.) I actually asked some questions in the chicken behavior forum about the possibility that my other SS might be a roo as well. They are all 12-13 weeks old.
 
Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. You have some excellent breeds. Buff Orpingtons and Speckled Sussex are both very calm and gentle breeds (my children made lap pets of them), and good layers of large, brown eggs. Golden Sex Link is one of a number of labels under which some hatcheries market their Red Sex Links which are laying machines. You should get loads of large, brown eggs from those two girls. :o) Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your flock.
 
Have you posted photos at "what gender or breed is this." They are at an age where it should hopefully be fairly obvious

You have some really nice breeds in your mixed flock. I'd love to see a photo of your SS rooster, we have SS girls in our mixed flock but no boys.
