New to raising chickens in the heart of Miami fl.

Wasn’t aware of this. Is this common for all brands of feed
Just check when you buy your feed as sometimes certain stores may not sell it fast enough. Sort of like in the grocery store how they always put all the oldest stuff at the front, you might have to dig to get the freshest one.

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow

Nothing wrong with Nutrena feed. Kalmback is a good brand too. Most feeds are pretty much the same. Always check expiration dates as chicken feed can deteriorate and even go rancid. Flock raiser feeds are a good way to go with oyster shell on the side for the layers. Keep the chicks on starter until they start to show signs of laying if you go with a layer feed.

Best wishes with your flock!
