New to Raising Chickens...need tips!

My husband and I are new to raising chickens. We're looking for good layers (med-large eggs) with a mild temperment. I've read about Golden Comets and like what I've seen. Is there any particular breed NOT to get? Thanks!

Hi! If you you want mild temperment stay away from the light breeds like hamburgs and leghorns.

They tend to be flighty. The heavier breeds like buff orpington, black australorp give nice eggs and are friendly.

They are the ones that I have that are always wanting attention.
