With my baby chicks all I need for them to be happy and healthy is a heat lamp (I use infared so that their sleeping isn't interrupted as much) some chick starter from my local produce, i find that they like the really tiny pellet starter opposed to the mash and a water dish (i use an old dessert bowl because its heavy and they cant tip it over when they jump all over it).

I used to keep them in a storage container until my partner built me an awesome brooding box. I clean them every 2nd day when their very young (under 2 weeks) and daily after that. They like hay for bedding and love to get out on the lawn to peck and scratch around under supervision and in a secure pen.

Happy chick raising!!!
