Hello,

I'm new to raising chickens and I inherited 2 leghorns, a copper marin, jersey giant, and a Plymouth. They are a year old and so far so good! Except the copper marin, she's gone broody! Been that way for 4 weeks now! I've tried closing iff the nesting boxes which is a problem because the other chickens need access. I've taken the eggs so she has nothing to sit on, I've tried distracting her with treats and also carrying her around the garden with me and none of it is helping! As soon as I put her down she goes right back to try and get in the coop or just plops herself down and tries to burrow in the dirt.

I have 4 week old leghorns and a creme legbar and I've kept them close to the chickens in the coop but in a separate protected area so they can see and hear each other. But since I live in a HOA I can't have anymore chickens or roosters so she can't hatch her own chicks to satisfy her maternal desires lol!

Help how can I break her of this before she gets sick?
