New to raising chickens

Hey everyone , my name is Danielle . My family and I are new to raising chickens. We have a total of 11 currently and 8 of them are chicks.
I have one chick who is not growing as quickly as the others, he is prob around 1 week old. It’s body is smaller then the others , it’s wings are growing but body is not. He is weaker and not as active . He does get the poop stuck on his butt at times so I wash his butt with warm water and then use coconut oil after . I also put some vitamins and electrolytes in his water as well . He sleeps a lot where the other chicks are very active .
Any other suggestions and ideas as to what could be the issue ?
Thanks so much 😊
Little guy did not make it. Very sad
Thank you all for the advice .

Glad to meet you, Danielle. So sorry about the sickly chick. Some chicks just never thrive. Even a careful mother hen loses some, and despite the most careful tending, a few pass. Try not to stress or blame yourself, or second guess. If there is something to learn from an animal's death so future problems can be avoided, that is good to consider, but never blame yourself over a failure to thrive like this. :hugsYou sound like you are doing a great job!

Hi, Danielle, sorry to hear your chick didn't survive. This happens sometimes, not unusual at all, although it is sad. Some chicks just don't get off to a good start. How many others do you have?
We have three additional chicks that were purchased with that one
And then for checks that were purchased two weeks prior. So I always say we have a group of toddlers a group of teenagers and a group of young adults because we have three more chickens that are about four months old lol
