(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I got my first chicks on June 7th! My household and I have been planning on getting them for three years.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have 6 flowerhen chicks (4-5 weeks old) and 5 hedemora chicks (6-7 weeks old).
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Lovely friends to cuddle! I’ve been socializing my chicks daily and learning all of their personalities has been so fun. Some of them love being held while others are treat-obsessed and others do their own thing.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Currently, I knit, crochet, spin wool, and play steel drum in a band! I also dabble in poetry and both traditional and digital art.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share!
I live with 4 cats, a dog, and have a large fishtank with an angelfish, sunburst platys, dwarf plecos, black phantom tetras, and a half-banded spiny eel. I work as a pediatric rheumatology regulatory research manager
